John Wayne Airport – Costa Mesa’s Airport?
It’s funny but John Wayne Airport has multiple addresses when you Google it. It seems to be claimed by Santa Ana, Irvine, Costa Mesa, even Tustin. The fact is it affects all of us. On Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 12-2pm Retired Lt. Col Alexander Jefferson will be doing a book signing at the Lyon Air Museum. The museum is technically in Santa Ana however it’s really in the Costa Mesa area. Plus this event lends itself to some fun plane watching from Costa Mesa (one of my fave pastimes as a child! Except I did it in NJ… Yeah Jersey Shore!)
Do you like watching planes take off and land?
Pop quiz: How do you know it’s 6:55am? That’s when the first plane takes off from John Wayne… I work out at Innovative Results, which is so close we always know when our workout is about finished!!!
Book Signing Details
The Lt. Col. will be signing copies of “Red Tail Captured, Red Tail Free: The Memoirs of a Tuskegee Airman and POW.” Make sure to check out the Lyon Air Museum website to read a more in depth bio about the adventures that this distinguished colonel faced.
